ERP integrations and a unified data integration layer bring source data into Prophix One's governed models, and Power BI connects to them. The agents work on those models. The Budgeting Agent writes budget changes back into Prophix, Planning Agent skills publish models and run processes inside it, and the reporting, close and consolidation agents answer from its cube. Copilot returns answers inside Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. None of the agents posts entries, raises records or sends updates into the ERP or any other outside system.

The Planning Agent, announced in September 2026 as the Autonomous Planning Agent and now part of FP&A Plus, runs budgeting, planning and reforecasting cycles through skills, each a chain of Prophix actions run in order as one unit. Skills Manager builds them from a fixed set of step types that update filters, add or update a version, publish or refresh a model, run a process, update an ad hoc layout or validate templates, and any step can be set to depend on another.

Once a skill is configured, the agent carries it from start to finish on a prompt or a schedule. The first release covers financial models and the personnel and currency models tied to them. Copilot routes every other request to the agent or assistant the user picks, and Prophix's broader workflow module coordinates the people side of budgeting and the close.

Answers come from the customer's governed actuals in the live Prophix cube, where the platform runs deterministic calculations and the agents explain the results, so a question about Q3 actuals against plan queries the model directly. The Consolidation Agent reads audit trail report data, the Reconciliation Agent reads close status, timelines and outstanding items, and the Knowledge Assistant answers from Prophix's help content. Agents only see data the user's permissions allow.

Budget changes made through the Budgeting Agent are reviewed and approved before the agent writes them back. A Planning Agent skill can carry Review Filters and Review Files steps that pause the run until a user approves or rejects, and a rejection stops every remaining step.

Scheduled skills wait for their owner to start them unless Run without Review is switched on, and any run can be cancelled midway. Only global administrators can use the Planning Agent until access is granted in Security Manager, and Portal administrators can switch Prophix One Intelligence off for the whole account and choose which assistants users may open.

Users sign in through Prophix Authentication, where multifactor sign in is mandatory, or through the customer's own provider over SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect 1.0, with that provider's MFA. Agents follow Prophix Security Manager permissions and role based access, so they reach only the data a user may see. Prophix holds SOC 2 Type II and ISAE 3402 Type 2 attestations, ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018 certifications, HITRUST CSF and Cloud Security Alliance STAR, and TrustArc certifies its responsible AI program against the NIST AI framework, the EU AI Act and the OECD principles.

Each Planning Agent skill keeps a Result Log of every run with its status, start time and completion time, and an All Result Log gathers runs across every skill. Runs end as Success, Paused, Rejected, Failed or Cancelled, and a run's detail view shows how many steps finished out of the total, the elapsed time and each step as a card with its own status.

While a skill runs, Copilot marks each step as done, active or not started, and skill activity reaches the notification hub and email. Agent answers stay grounded in governed actuals so a user can see where a result came from, and each user's Chat History keeps past conversations.

Within Copilot, each exchange adds to a running session history that survives a switch to another agent or assistant until the user clears the chat. Chat History keeps every earlier conversation for the agent selected, and any of them can be reopened and resumed. Nothing the agents learn about a team's preferences or conventions carries into later conversations unless someone types it again.

Prophix One runs on AWS in a region chosen by the customer's location or set by the customer when service starts, from the United States, the UK, the EU, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Brazil, and data stays in that region, so a US customer's data is stored and backed up only in US regions. Backups are automated across regions within that geography, data is encrypted with AES 256 at rest and TLS 1.2 or higher in transit, and keys sit in cloud HSMs.

Skills Manager starts new skills from two templates, Monthly Maintenance and Rolling Quarter Forecasting, each with its steps and a default schedule ready to fill in. The Knowledge Assistant answers how to questions, and each agent opens with sample questions.

Most work reaches the agents from a person, who opens Prophix One Copilot in an application or in Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word or Outlook, picks an agent and types a question or chooses a sample one.

Planning Agent skills can also run on a schedule set in Skills Manager, with a time zone, a start time, start and end dates and a recurrence such as monthly or quarterly. With Run without Review switched on, a scheduled skill starts by itself at that time and no reminder goes out.

Left off, the default, Prophix emails the skill's owner a link to review and start the run in Copilot. No event, alert or webhook starts an agent.

The model behind Prophix One's agents goes unnamed, and no setting lets a customer pick or change it. Prophix keeps calculations in the platform and uses the AI to explain them, and it does not use customer data to train third party models. Connecting Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot through the MCP server lets a team bring its own assistant to Prophix data, at that provider's terms, while the agents inside Prophix stay on Prophix's choice.

The Prophix MCP server gives each FP&A Plus instance its own endpoint URL in the Portal. Claude, ChatGPT and other standard clients sign in over OAuth 2.1 with PKCE using a public client, and Microsoft Copilot uses a confidential client with a secret.

Its tools list models, dimensions, members and their properties, pull cell values, report layouts and period comparisons, query Detailed Planning records and run sums, means, variances and correlations, all within the user's own Prophix permissions.

Every tool reads, so an outside assistant can analyze plans across models but cannot change budgets, versions or models through it.

The Consolidation Agent answers only when the report data supports a confident answer and makes clear where its abilities stop, and Prophix applies bias testing under its responsible AI principles. A team has no way to test an agent against its own cases or score its answers before relying on it.
