What Changed in AI Agent Platforms (October 2026)
Three weeks of agent platform changes, October 3 to 21, in about four minutes.
Coding agents moved into sandboxes. GitHub Copilot, Kiro and Google Antigravity fenced their agents in at the operating system level, and two of them used the fence to stop asking permission for routine commands. E2B and Coral kept credentials out of the agent's hands altogether.
Tools started carrying labels for read, write or destructive. Microsoft gave agents Microsoft 365 accounts of their own, so the newest coworker now has a login and an Outlook inbox. Memory began learning procedures as well as people, and personal agents started calling businesses with consent protocols attached.
