The revenue intelligence category creator, now an agent platform: the Revenue Harness governs and orchestrates custom agents across the revenue cycle on top of a data graph of every call, email and CRM record.

Gong created the revenue intelligence category and has spent 2026 rebuilding itself around agents. Its Revenue AI Operating System sits on the Gong Revenue Graph, a data layer connecting calls, emails, meetings and CRM records, and drives applications spanning conversation intelligence, Engage for sales engagement, Forecast, Enable and Gong Agents.

The agentic layer arrived properly in June 2026 with Mission Big Dipper and the Gong Revenue Harness, described as an agentic execution layer that governs, orchestrates and connects AI agents across the full revenue cycle, building on prior investments in Agent Studio and Model Context Protocol support. Custom Agents became generally available the same month, alongside AI Coach, AI Builder for Scorecards, and Gong Assistant in a standalone workspace.

The framing behind that launch is the most notable thing about it. Gong positions the Revenue Harness explicitly against early enterprise AI deployments, which it characterises as generic tools that break in production because they lack revenue context, governance and human in the loop control. That is the same architectural argument the process automation incumbents make, arrived at independently in a completely different lane.

The agents themselves handle pre call research, post call follow up drafting, pipeline review summaries, forecast corrections, enablement triggers and CRM updates, which moves conversation intelligence from surfacing insight for humans to executing work directly. Forecast reads more than 300 signals per conversation.

The honest limits are commercial and deployment. Pricing is platform fee plus per seat plus add ons with no self serve trial, reported by buyers at painful levels for smaller teams, and onboarding is described as a four to eight week exercise. Deployment is cloud only with no residency options retrieved.

Integrations

The Gong Revenue Graph unifies calls, emails, meetings and CRM data as the platform data layer. Model Context Protocol support powers AI interoperability, and a Microsoft collaboration brings marketplace availability with Azure Consumption Commitment eligibility plus deeper integration across the Microsoft ecosystem. An independent review notes integration limits: no API access for parallel dialers, incomplete coverage of third party outreach tools, and some CRM syncs requiring workarounds.

In practice

A rep finishes a call and an agent drafts the follow up referencing exactly what was discussed, updates the CRM and flags the deal risk without anyone opening a form.

An enablement team generates coaching scorecards automatically from the criteria found in top performing closed won calls, rather than designing evaluation rubrics by hand.

A RevOps lead builds a custom agent in Agent Studio and runs it through Dry Run before letting it touch live pipeline data.

Integrations & Tool CallingThe Revenue Graph connects calls, emails, meetings and CRM data as one layer, MCP powers AI interoperability, and a Microsoft collaboration adds marketplace availability and deeper ecosystem integration. Workflow OrchestrationThe Gong Revenue Harness is an agentic execution layer that GOVERNS, ORCHESTRATES AND CONNECTS AI agents across the full revenue cycle, evolving from Agent Studio and MCP support; Custom Agents reached general availability June 2026 and automate follow ups, pipeline edits, enablement triggers and forecast corrections across systems. Knowledge Grounding & RAGThe Revenue Graph is an explicit grounding layer connecting calls, emails, meetings and CRM into one trusted source, Forecast reads more than 300 distinct signals per conversation, and proprietary generative and predictive models are described as trained on tens of billions of real customer interactions and tuned to revenue terminology. Gong newsroom and vendor profile 2026-08-07 Full
Human Oversight & GuardrailsGong names HUMAN-IN-THE-LOOP CONTROL as one of the three things generic AI tools lack and the Revenue Harness supplies, alongside revenue context and governance; the Harness governs agents as an explicit layer, and a DRY RUN capability lets an agent be exercised before it touches live data. Security, Identity & GovernanceReported to maintain SOC 2 Type II attestation plus ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 27701 and notably ISO 42001 for AI management systems, with PCI DSS and GDPR alignment. VERIFICATION FLAG: this list came from a third party vendor profile rather than gong.io directly; Gong's own newsroom confirms heavy security investment only in general terms. Confidence reduced accordingly - verify against Gong first party pages before citing ISO 42001. Third party vendor profile and Gong newsroom 2026-08-07 Full
Observability & AuditabilityThe Revenue Harness is positioned as the governance layer over agent execution across the revenue cycle, with scorecards, deal health, pipeline risk and rep performance reporting giving a single source of truth; conversation logging is inherent to the platform. A dedicated agent audit trail surface was not separately documented. Gong newsroom and product descriptions 2026-08-07 Full
Memory & State PersistenceThe Revenue Graph persists the full interaction history agents operate against and functions as durable shared context, but no agent memory or learned context layer distinct from that data platform is documented. Graded to match the airtable and pega rulings so the axis stays comparable. Gong newsroom 2026-08-07 Partial
Deployment & Data ResidencyCloud SaaS with purchasing available through Microsoft Marketplace under Azure Consumption Commitments, but no self hosting, VPC option or published data residency matrix was retrieved; third party procurement analysis lists data residency among terms that are NEGOTIATED AT SIGNING rather than published. Triggers & Channel CoverageEvery customer facing call, meeting, demo and email is automatically captured and analysed, so conversations themselves are the trigger surface; agents fire on post call events, pipeline changes and enablement triggers, and AI Coach delivers an interactive session immediately after every AI Trainer run. Model Flexibility & RoutingGong runs proprietary generative and predictive models tuned for revenue workflows, and third party procurement analysis of 2026 sales AI contracts reports that PREMIUM MODEL ACCESS is a paid add on while the base tier ships a mid tier reasoner, implying tiered model choice. Testing, Debugging & OptimizationDRY RUN exercises an agent before it acts on live data, AI Trainer plus AI Coach provide a practice and feedback loop, and AI Builder for Scorecards derives evaluation criteria automatically from top performing closed won calls rather than hand built rubrics. What is public

Nothing on price. Product structure, module names and the Microsoft Marketplace purchasing route are public. Every figure in this record is third party reported and flagged as such.

Billing mechanics

Not publicly disclosed. Direct enterprise sales with a required evaluation process, plus a purchasing route through Microsoft Marketplace that lets buyers draw down Azure Consumption Commitments.

Cost watchouts

Three stacking components: platform fee, per seat rate and add ons. Third party procurement analysis of 2026 sales AI contracts reports the vendor economics are HEAVILY WEIGHTED TOWARD THE ADD ONS, with voice channel, premium model access, custom guardrails, advanced analytics and compliance certifications beyond multi region deployment all charged separately. Gong Engage unbundled from Gong Foundations, so the sales engagement module is a further line. Onboarding is described as taking four to eight weeks, which is real cost. Data residency, SSO report cadence, training data ownership and IP indemnity are reported as negotiated at signing rather than standard.

Variable cost rationale

Nothing is published, and the independent procurement evidence says the economics are deliberately weighted toward add ons rather than the base licence, so the quoted number is the least informative part of the deal. Voice channel, premium model access, custom guardrails, advanced analytics and additional compliance are all separate lines, and residency and indemnity terms are negotiated per contract. A buyer cannot forecast total cost from any public source.

Additional watchouts

Do not model Gong from a per seat figure. The platform fee and the add on stack are where the cost sits, and the Microsoft Marketplace route may materially change the commercial shape for Azure committed buyers.

Commercial notes

Private but unusually transparent on scale: ARR surpassed 500M USD as of May 2026 with growth reported above 55 percent year over year for a tenth consecutive quarter, roughly 584M USD raised including a 250M USD Series E at a reported 7.25B USD valuation, and more than 5,000 customers. Scale is well evidenced even though pricing is not.

Key ambiguities

Everything commercial. No list price, no platform fee figure, no add on rate card. The 250 USD per user per month figure is a single buyer report in an independent review, not a vendor statement, and platform fees sit on top of it.

Missing data

Platform fee, per seat list rate, add on pricing, and the boundary between Gong Foundations and separately sold modules.
