Outreach
Also known as: Outreach.io, Outreach AI Prospecting Agents, Kaia
Enterprise sales execution platform whose named agents run prospecting, account research and CRM updating, deployable either as rep copilots or as fully autonomous workers, with no contact database of its own.
Outreach is the enterprise sales execution platform, built around sequences, calling, conversation intelligence and forecasting, and it typically sits on top of Salesforce rather than replacing it. In December 2024 it launched AI Prospecting Agents and has since repositioned around agentic execution for revenue teams. The distinguishing choice, stated at launch by CEO Abhijit Mitra, is that customers can run the same capability as a copilot that assists a human rep or as a fully autonomous agent, covering work like re engaging dormant accounts, building expansion pipeline and prospecting into new segments.
The agents are named and packaged rather than generic. Revenue Agent handles autonomous prospecting, identifying accounts, sourcing contacts and generating outreach. Research Agent pulls account research from internal and external sources on a daily, weekly or monthly refresh and writes its findings straight into Outreach account fields, which makes the output durable rather than a chat response. Deal Agent updates CRM fields from conversation intelligence without rep intervention. A Meeting Prep Agent is in beta and a Reply Agent for handling email objections is announced. Kaia remains the conversation intelligence layer underneath.
The critical scoping fact for buyers is what Outreach does not include. There is no B2B contact or company database. Teams have to source prospect data from a separate provider, a CRM import or manual research before a sequence can run. That is the inverse of Apollo, which leads with the database and treats execution as the layer on top, and it is why the two are usually evaluated as complements rather than substitutes despite competing for the same budget line.
Commercially it is enterprise only in practice. Pricing is not published, quotes are reported in the region of $100 to $160 per user per month on annual contracts, and getting real value assumes meaningful admin configuration, sequence design and enablement investment. The platform suits organisations already standardised on Salesforce that are managing hundreds of open opportunities and want engagement, intelligence, forecasting and autonomous execution in one stack.

In practice
You have a book of dormant accounts nobody has time to work. Outreach lets you point an autonomous agent at exactly that segment rather than adding it to a rep's queue and hoping it gets touched.
Your account research is stale by the time a rep opens the record. Research Agent refreshes on a set cadence and writes findings into Outreach account fields, so the research lives in the record rather than in a chat window.
Your CRM hygiene depends on reps updating fields after calls. Deal Agent derives those updates from conversation intelligence and applies them without rep intervention.

Outreach maintains SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, EU-US Privacy Shield and TRUSTe certifications, with DPAs including EU and UK standard contractual clauses executed with vendors processing customer data. Its software development lifecycle follows OWASP guidance with automated SAST and SCA plus manual controls, is audited by an independent third party and attested in the SOC 2 Type II report. Independent penetration testing runs at least annually against production architecture, cloud security posture management is in place, and connections enforce TLS 1.2 or higher. seats
What is public
Nothing. Outreach publishes no rate card, so buyers cannot size the spend without a sales conversation.
Billing mechanics
Per seat annual contracts negotiated through sales. Tier names and rates are not published, so every figure in circulation is second hand.
Cost watchouts
Prospect data must be bought separately since Outreach has no contact database, plus admin configuration, sequence design and enablement investment to reach value
Variable cost rationale
Seat based contracts make the platform line predictable once signed, but the required external data provider and the configuration and enablement effort sit outside the quoted rate.
Additional watchouts
Evaluation requires committing to a sales conversation before budget feasibility can be assessed. Reported rates put it well above self serve alternatives, and independent reviews consistently flag high configuration complexity as a prerequisite for value.
Sales call required
Yes, required for paid access
Free / trial
No free tier and no self serve trial; evaluation runs through a sales process
Commercial notes
The total cost of ownership is understated by the seat rate. Outreach ships no contact or company database, so a data provider is a required second line item, which is the opposite of the Apollo model where data and execution arrive in one subscription.
Key ambiguities
The reported price band comes from independent reviews rather than Outreach, and agent capabilities may be licensed as add ons rather than included in the seat rate. Neither the band nor the packaging of the agent tier is confirmed by a first party source.
Missing data
No published tier names, no published rates, no confirmation of whether the named agents are included in the base seat or licensed separately.
