Pigment
Also known as: Pigment AI, pigment.com, Pigment Agents
Business planning platform whose Modeler, Analyst and Custom Agents build and change planning models from plain language, run scheduled analysis Missions and act in Notion and Slack, with an MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor read and build in Pigment.
Pigment, founded in Paris in 2019 by Eléonore Crespo and Romain Niccoli, sells a business planning platform that brings finance, sales, workforce and supply chain plans into one shared model, with offices in Paris, London, New York, Toronto and San Francisco. Teams plan budgets and forecasts, sales territories and capacity, headcount, demand and inventory, and run financial consolidation in it, feeding the model through scheduled imports from systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, Salesforce and Workday, and Predictions adds machine learning forecasts inside the models. Unilever, Siemens, Snowflake and DPD are among the companies that plan on Pigment.
The agents work from an AI sidebar on every Board and Application. The Modeler Agent turns a request in plain language, a spreadsheet, an image or a voice note into Dimensions, Metrics, formulas and Blocks. In Plan & Build mode it writes an action plan, then stops at each waypoint for the user's go ahead, and every change it makes lands in Application History under that user's name. The Analyst Agent writes and runs code against the model's metrics to find the drivers behind a result, builds reports of text and charts for a Board or a PDF, and saves the work as a Mission that reruns on a schedule.
Custom Agents pair a team's own instructions and reference files with the same analysis skills, and agent connectors let all of them read and write in Notion and Slack under approval rules set per tool. The Pigment MCP server opens the model to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants, read only by default, with an advanced mode that creates Applications, builds Blocks, writes formulas and enters data within the user's own permissions. A Planner Agent for scenarios is announced and not yet available.
Pigment is sold by quote. A plan sets the number of Explorer, Contributor and Editor licenses, each member's license follows the permissions they hold, and AI use draws on a pool of AI credits granted each contract year, with add on packs when it runs low.
Pigment holds ISO 27001 certification and SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 reports, sits at CSA STAR level one, and supports SAML single sign on with SCIM provisioning, multifactor authentication, group roles and fine grained data access rights that the agents inherit. Each customer chooses whether its data is stored in Frankfurt or Oregon on Google Cloud, and French or European buyers can run Pigment on S3NS, a SecNumCloud qualified sovereign cloud operated by a Thales subsidiary. The agents run on pretrained models from AI vendors Pigment does not name, under zero data retention terms with no training on customer data.
Pigment fits a company that wants finance, sales, workforce and supply chain plans in one model, with agents that build and change that model step by step under a person's approval and outside assistants allowed to model in it too. It fits less well a finance team that wants to keep its models in Excel, or one that wants to choose the model behind its agents.

Scheduled imports bring in data from ERPs such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct and SAP, CRM and HR systems such as Salesforce and Workday, data warehouses, BI tools, spreadsheets and file storage, and a REST API handles imports, exports, metadata and data flows. Agent connectors give the agents Notion and Slack, and the Pigment MCP server serves Claude, ChatGPT, Mistral, Cursor and Codex.
In practice
A strategic finance team needs a version dimension in its plan before the next reforecast. In Plan & Build mode the Modeler Agent sets out the steps, then builds the dimension, the Metrics and their formulas, stopping at each waypoint until a modeler approves.
An FP&A lead wants operating expenses checked against budget every month. The Analyst Agent runs the variance by department and vendor, explains the material deviations, and the analysis is saved as a Mission that reruns on its schedule and feeds a Board.
A revenue operations analyst plans territories in Pigment but drafts most of her work in Claude. With advanced mode on, she asks Claude to add a Metric and write its formula, and the change lands in Pigment under her own permissions.
A people team wants an assistant that knows its headcount conventions. An admin builds a Custom Agent with the team's glossary, process notes and key Boards, previews it, then switches it on for every member of the team.

Data reaches the model through scheduled imports from ERP, CRM, HR, data warehouse, BI, spreadsheet and file storage sources, and the agents work on that model instead of inside the source systems. Agent connectors reach outward to Notion and Slack. An admin switches a connector on, each member signs in with their own account, and each read, write or delete tool is set to always allow, needs approval or blocked. Google Drive is still to come, and a team cannot add an MCP server of its own, so agent action outside Pigment stops at those two products. In Plan & Build mode the Modeler Agent gathers context, writes a structured action plan and then carries it out across Dimensions, Lists, Metrics, formulas and data imports, asking before it switches to another mode. The Analyst Agent takes a Mission, a task written in plain language, and works through its subtasks. It sources the data, drills into the drivers, runs its own code against the model's metrics and assembles a report of text and charts. A user can leave an agent working and come back to an unread badge on the chats that have answered. Custom Agents draw on the same analysis and documentation skills, though they cannot schedule Missions. Sourcekb.pigment.com/docs/configure-and-run-the-modeler-agentread 2026-10-13 |

Answers come from the customer's live planning model, its Applications, Blocks, Metrics and Boards, and an admin can switch AI data access off on any Block that should stay out of reach. The Analyst prepares itself once per Application on the first question, a setup that takes longer the more Blocks there are. Custom Agents carry standing knowledge a team supplies, such as process documents, glossaries, FAQs, guidelines and chosen Boards and Metrics, and users can attach spreadsheets, text and images to a chat. When a security admin allows it, the agents also search the web, optionally only on approved domains, and look inside the model first when the answer may be there. In Plan & Build mode the Modeler Agent puts its action plan up for validation and waits for a go ahead at each waypoint as it works. Auto accept lets it continue without stopping, except for deletions, which a person confirms every time. Its changes to the model are permanent and attributed in Application History to the member who ran it, and Ask mode answers without touching anything. Connector tools set to needs approval make the agent propose a create, edit or delete in Notion or Slack and wait for the member to confirm it, and a web search that might reveal sensitive data asks for approval first. Sign in runs through SAML 2.0 single sign on with SCIM provisioning for Okta, Microsoft Entra ID or any compliant identity provider, or through Google Login, with multifactor authentication and domain allowlisting on top. Group based roles and fine grained data access rights decide who can see and change each piece of data, and the agents, Custom Agents and MCP sessions act only within the rights of the member using them, under separate permissions to use agents and to configure them. Pigment holds ISO 27001 certification and SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 reports, audited every year, offers a SOC 3 report, sits at CSA STAR level one and covers GDPR and CCPA. An independent penetration test summary was refreshed in June 2026, and API keys created since May 2026 follow a structured format that secret scanning tools can catch. The Missions tab shows every Mission the agents have run, and each change the Modeler makes is recorded in Application History against the member who ran it, inside edit histories that go down to the block level. Agent outputs explain how they were reached, with the data and logic behind them, and the Modeler writes up each change as it goes. The Audit Trail API sends login, administration, security and application events to a SIEM, and admins follow AI credit use in near real time on the Plan & Usage and AI credits screens. Each member keeps a private chat history with the agents, where chats can be pinned, filtered by Application and reopened to carry on from where they stopped. The Modeler remembers which mode was last used in each chat, and a saved Mission keeps an analysis so it can run again. A team that wants an agent to hold on to its conventions writes them into a Custom Agent's instructions, since chats do not build up a memory of their own. Saving an Analyst report as a Mission makes it repeatable, and switching on Scheduling sets a start time and a cadence for later runs, with each run's output kept in the report or exported to a text Metric. The Missions tab shows every saved Mission with its run frequency. People also start the agents from the AI sidebar on any Board, from the AI Analysis button beside a Metric, Table or numeric Widget, and from a prompt typed at the top of the Workspace homepage. The agents run on pretrained models from AI vendors under enterprise agreements with zero data retention, and customer data is never used to train them. Which vendors and models sit behind the agents is not public, and an admin has no setting to pick or switch the model. Claude, ChatGPT or Mistral can reach Pigment through its MCP server, which puts a team's own assistant in front of Pigment data while Pigment's agents stay on Pigment's choice. The public REST API, with a Swagger reference, imports data, exports Metric, Table and List data, returns import configurations and starts data flows, under API keys that carry their owner's access rights, IP allow lists and set rate limits, beside an Audit Logs API. The Pigment MCP server gives each Workspace its own endpoint and signs people in with their Pigment accounts. Its default tools read and analyze, and advanced mode adds tools that create Applications, build Dimensions, Metrics and Tables, write formulas, design Views and Boards and enter data. Test & Deploy environments stage model changes, the Modeler's included, before they reach a production Application that can be locked, and in managed Applications the Modeler works in Ask mode only. Pricing
No public prices. Pigment sells plans by quote.
Quoted per plan and number of licenses, across Explorer, Contributor and Editor license types, with AI use metered in AI credits granted each contract year.
Included quota
Not public. The plan sets the number of licenses and the AI credits included. Credits are granted each year, reset at the contract anniversary and expire unused, and an add on pack bought during the year counts toward the current period.
What is public
The three license types, how AI credits are granted, used and reset, and the credit rate for Predictions.
Billing mechanics
Plans are sold by quote and set the number of Explorer, Contributor and Editor licenses, with a member moving up a license type as they gain permissions. AI credits are granted for each contract year.
Cost watchouts
AI credits beyond the annual pool come as add on packs, and unused credits expire at the contract anniversary.
Variable cost rationale
Agent use draws AI credits according to the complexity of each task, Predictions take 0.1 credits per time series, and Pigment may revalue credits over time, so spend inside the annual pool moves with use, though features pause at the limit instead of billing past it.
Additional watchouts
Credits do not roll over, and some AI features can pause at the limit until more credits are bought.
Overage / add-ons
As a Workspace nears its AI credit limit, Pigment can notify administrators and limit or pause some AI features until more credits are added.
Sales call required
Yes, required for paid access
Free / trial
A free trial labeled beta is open for the Modeler and Analyst Agents.
Lowest paid plan
Not public
Key ambiguities
No plan, license or credit prices are public, and how many credits an agent task uses depends on its complexity.
Missing data
Plan and license prices, and the size and price of the AI credit pool.
