Allo
Also known as: withallo.com, Allo AI Receptionist, The Mobile-First Company
Allo is a business phone system for small teams with an AI receptionist add on that answers missed or all inbound calls, answers from the company's website and files, keeps asking until it has the details a team requires, transfers by plain language rules with an optional warm handoff, books into Google Calendar, Cal.com or Calendly, and fills empty CRM fields after the call. Admins can switch the AI provider to Mistral, and a public API, webhooks and an MCP server can configure the agent and work with calls and texts.
Allo is the business phone system from The Mobile-First Company (MOBILE-FIRST SAS) of Vincennes, France, used by more than 6,000 teams for calls, texts, a shared inbox, call flows, a power dialer and recording on mobile, desktop and web. Every plan includes AI transcription, summaries and native CRM sync. The subject here is the AI Receptionist, a separately priced agent add on, along with the prebuilt AI agents on the Ultra plan; the phone system is context.
Each line gets its own agent, set up in a guided flow. Admins name it, pick a voice and language, a tone (friendly, professional or enthusiastic) and an answer length, then start from a prebuilt AI Receptionist, Customer support, Lead qualifier or Appointment setter job, or from a blank page. The job is written out in four plain sections covering what the agent should do, who it is, how it behaves and what it must not do, and a Things to find out list names the questions it must ask, with Must get before hanging up keeping it on the line until each is answered. Knowledge comes from website pages, up to three PDF or text files and extra context in the admin's words.
Skills add transfer rules that send calls to a teammate, another inbox or an outside number when a plain language condition is met, with a warm transfer in beta that announces the caller and connects only when the teammate accepts, calendar booking with hours, buffers, notice and horizon rules, email reminders when a promised callback has not happened, and a CRM skill that reads the transcript after each call and fills only the empty fields an admin selected. The agent can take missed calls only, every call or business hours, and speaks English and French.
The AI Receptionist costs $32 a month per agent billed yearly, or $45 billed monthly, on top of a seat: Solo for one user, Business at $32 per user a month yearly or $45 monthly, and Ultra at $100 or $120, which adds AI agents for sales, support, lead qualification, CRM upkeep, coaching and analysis plus custom agents; Business includes a seven day trial.
Allo states SOC 2 compliance with a trust center, acts as a GDPR processor with standard contractual clauses for transfers outside the EEA, signs HIPAA BAAs for $50 a month on Business and Ultra, encrypts data with AES 256 and assigns Owner, Admin, Member and reduced price Viewer roles. Hosting runs on AWS without a stated region, and admins can swap the default AI provider for Mistral on every plan.
Allo fits small and mid sized teams in real estate, insurance, home services, medical practices and sales that want an inexpensive receptionist on their own numbers, booking into the calendar they already use and keeping the CRM filled, with a Mistral option for European buyers. It fits less well for teams that need outbound voice agents, custom tools during the call, memory of earlier callers or a choice of hosting region, or languages beyond English and French.

Integrations
Agent skills book into Google Calendar, Cal.com and Calendly and fill empty contact fields in the connected CRM after each call. Native CRM sync covers HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Attio, Folk, Streak, GoHighLevel, Zoho Flow, Odoo, Apollo, Intercom and Notion, with Google Sheets, Google Contacts, Shopify, QuickBooks, Zapier and Make. The Allo API v2 with an OpenAPI specification and scoped API keys covers calls, messages, contacts, tags, analytics, dialing queues and partner account provisioning, and webhooks report call, SMS, tag and contact events. The MCP server at mcp.withallo.com/mcp, with API key or sign in through the Claude connector and Cursor plugin, can read and update the receptionist's configuration, prompt, status and knowledge. Mistral is available as the AI provider.
In practice
An insurance agency starts from the Lead qualifier job, marks policy type and renewal date as must get questions, and transfers callers who want a quote today to an agent with a warm transfer so the agent hears the reason before accepting.
A real estate team connects Calendly, sets a two hour notice and 15 minute buffers, and lets the receptionist book viewings at night while the CRM skill fills in each buyer's budget and email in HubSpot.
A clinic signs the HIPAA BAA, switches the AI provider to Mistral, and uses Claude through the Allo MCP server to update the receptionist's opening hours and knowledge pages before a holiday.

During a call the agent finds an open slot and books it into Google Calendar, a chosen Cal.com event type or Calendly, under rules for booking hours, blocked dates, buffers, minimum notice and how far ahead callers may book. After the call its CRM skill reads the transcript and fills only the empty contact fields an admin selected in the connected CRM, from a catalog that includes HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Attio, Folk, Streak and GoHighLevel. Agents cannot call arbitrary APIs or webhooks mid call, so actions stay within calendars, CRM fields, transfers and email reminders. Each line runs one agent whose job is written in four plain sections, what to do, who to be, how to behave and what not to do, plus a list of questions it must or may ask, and its skills, transfer rules, calendar scheduling, notifications and CRM, fire as the conversation calls for them. A support line and a sales line can run two different receptionists. There is no step builder, branching graph or handoff between agents, and the post call CRM update is the only work that continues once the caller hangs up. Each agent answers from three kinds of knowledge kept with its configuration: website pages it reads, up to three PDF or text files of 5MB each such as menus, price lists or FAQs, and extra context written in plain text for facts like office hours, pricing tiers or refund policy. Knowledge websites can be added, paused without deletion or removed through the MCP server as well as in the app. Wrong answers are fixed by updating the pages, replacing files or adding corrections, then placing a test call. Transfer rules hand a call to a teammate, another inbox or an outside number when a plain language condition is met, and the warm transfer option, in beta, holds the caller while Allo rings the teammate, announces the caller's name and reason and connects only if the teammate accepts. Missed callback reminders email the team when a callback the agent promised has not happened, and a What shouldn't your agent do section sets limits. Bookings and CRM updates go through without a person approving them, though the CRM skill only fills fields that are empty. Sourcehelp.withallo.com/en/features/ai-receptionistread 2026-10-18 |

An agent's Calls & actions page lists every call it handled and what it did on each one, such as transferred to Sarah or took a message, and its Overview shows upcoming meetings it booked. In the Calls tab an AI Receptionist filter opens each call's summary, a transcript with the agent's lines labeled, the full recording, and the collected details with suggested follow ups. Admins can review team activity without an extra seat, and webhooks deliver completed calls with recording, transcript and summary to outside systems. Within a call the agent tracks which required questions are still open and keeps asking until each pinned one is answered. What it collects lands on the call record as collected details, with one click suggestions to create or update the contact, and the CRM skill writes empty fields after the call. Nothing in the agent's setup reads a caller's earlier calls or a stored profile back into the next conversation, so each call starts from the job and the knowledge sources. Allo runs as a single multi tenant cloud, with Amazon Web Services named as the hosting provider in the privacy policy and no hosting region stated. Transfers of data outside the European Economic Area rest on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, which is legal cover rather than a place to keep data. There is no region selection, private cloud or on premises option for the phone system or the agent. Sourcewithallo.com/privacy-policyread 2026-10-18 |

Setup starts from one of four prebuilt jobs, AI Receptionist for greeting, routing, messages and bookings, Customer support for step by step troubleshooting with identity checks, Lead qualifier for qualifying and booking or transferring hot leads, and Appointment setter for confirming and booking times, each tuned afterwards or replaced with a blank start. The Ultra plan adds prebuilt AI agents for sales development, support, lead qualification, CRM upkeep, sales coaching and data analysis, alongside custom agents. Calls reach the agent on its Allo line in one of three pickup modes: only calls the team misses, which is the suggested setting, every inbound call, or business hours only, and it replaces voicemail as the line's missed call handler. Voices cover English in US and UK accents and French for France and Canada. The receptionist answers inbound calls only; webhooks report call, SMS and contact events outward, and nothing schedules, dials out or starts a conversation from an event or API request. Admins can switch from Allo's default AI provider to Mistral, the European AI company, on every plan, so a team that prefers a European model can choose one. An MCP server at mcp.withallo.com/mcp, reached with an API key or by signing in through the Claude connector or Cursor plugin, lists its tools, including reading and updating the receptionist's configuration, writing its prompt section by section, turning it on or off, managing knowledge websites and sending SMS. Before going live, and at any time afterwards, a Test call button places a call from the computer so the team talks to the agent the way callers will, and greetings and closings can be played back in the agent's voice before saving. Troubleshooting guidance ties common failures, such as wrong answers or a missing detail, to the setting that fixes them. There are no scored test cases, simulated callers or quality reports on the agent's calls. Sourcehelp.withallo.com/en/features/ai-receptionistread 2026-10-18 |

The receptionist talks to callers on the phone and reaches calendars and CRMs through native integrations, and the MCP server lets assistants such as Claude or Cursor operate Allo from outside. Nothing in the product has the agent open a browser or desktop session to work another application's screens, and the click to call browser extension is a tool for people, not for the agent. Pricing
AI Receptionist $32 per agent a month yearly or $45 monthly; Business $32 per user yearly or $45 monthly; Ultra $100 or $120
Per agent add on for the AI Receptionist plus per user seats, monthly or yearly
Included quota
The add on covers one agent on one line; no call or minute cap is stated.
What is public
Every seat price monthly and yearly, the agent add on price and the other add ons.
Billing mechanics
Per user seats plus a flat per agent add on, monthly or yearly.
Cost watchouts
Each line needs its own agent add on, Cal.com or Calendly subscriptions are separate, and HIPAA needs the $50 BAA add on on Business or Ultra.
Variable cost rationale
The agent is a flat monthly add on per line with no stated per call or per minute meter, so cost scales with the number of agents and seats rather than call volume.
Additional watchouts
The agent add on price is marked early and may change.
Overage / add-ons
No per call or per minute charge for the agent is stated; international calls bill per minute and US texting needs a $24 one time 10DLC registration.
Sales call required
No, self serve available
Free / trial
Seven day free trial of Business with a card; no free tier
Lowest paid plan
AI Receptionist at $32 a month per agent billed yearly ($45 monthly), on a Business seat from $32 per user a month yearly
Commercial notes
Self serve with a seven day trial; agents are switched on from inside Allo.
Key ambiguities
Solo is priced at $10 yearly on the pricing page and $18 yearly in the help center, and the add on price is labeled early and subject to change.
Cancellation / refund
No contracts or setup fees; yearly billing saves up to 29%.
Support SLA / resale
A partner program and a partner API let resellers provision Allo accounts for their customers.
Missing data
Any call volume limit on the agent add on.
