CloudTalk
Also known as: cloudtalk.io, CloudTalk VoiceAgent, CloudTalk AI Voice Agent
CloudTalk's VoiceAgents answer and place calls on CloudTalk numbers in 160+ countries and 70+ languages, booking into Google or Outlook calendars, calling the customer's APIs as tools, transferring to people with a context card and exporting extracted call data to the CRM. Teams start from templates, pick from OpenAI, Anthropic or Google models in Expert Mode, trigger outbound calls from HubSpot, Salesforce or the API, and manage agents through an MCP server.
CloudTalk is a cloud phone and contact center platform used by more than 40,000 sales and support teams, with dialers, call flows, messaging and conversation intelligence, and offices in Toronto, New York, London, Prague, Bratislava and other cities. The VoiceAgent product line, sold as AI Receptionist and AI Specialist plans, is the subject here; the phone system and dialer are context.
Agents are built in a four step wizard of profile, skills, knowledge and scenarios, starting either from ready made templates such as during hours and after hours receptionists and an appointment scheduler, or from a blank setup, and an AI Composer edits an agent from plain instructions. Skills cover transfer to human, taking a message, extracting information, answering questions and appointment booking against a connected Google or Outlook calendar, and custom skills can be added.
Tools let the agent call any REST endpoint with headers and path or body parameters mid call, scenarios attach a reply plus a hang up, SMS or tool call to specific situations, and guardrails fix the answer for sensitive questions. Knowledge bases built from files, URLs or typed content can be shared across agents. Inbound agents sit inside Call Flow Designer routes, while outbound calls start from the VoiceAgent API, from workflows in HubSpot, Salesforce, Dynamics 365, Zendesk, Freshdesk, Pipedrive, Zoho or Kustomer, or from Zapier and Make, and extracted results land in the CRM call note. Expert Mode exposes the full JSON configuration, including a pinned model from OpenAI, Anthropic or Google and voice stability settings.
AI Receptionist costs $99 a month for 200 minutes with the first 50 minutes free, AI Specialist costs $349 a month for 1,000 minutes with expert implementation and analytics, and plans above 10,000 minutes run from €0.15 a minute; the phone system starts at $25 per user a month, and a 14 day trial includes 50 VoiceAgent minutes. CloudTalk holds SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001:2022, HIPAA, PCI DSS and CSA STAR documentation in a trust center, and offers SSO through Azure, Okta and OneLogin with user roles. Infrastructure runs on AWS in Germany, the US, Singapore, Australia and Brazil, while speech providers for the agents process in the US.
CloudTalk fits SMB and mid market sales and support teams that want voice agents on the same numbers, call flows and CRM integrations as their reps, with outbound calls fired from their CRM. It fits less well for teams that need branching multi agent conversation design, a scored test suite for agents, or a stated choice of data region for agent calls.

In practice
A dental clinic starts from the after hours receptionist template, connects its Google Calendar to the appointment booking skill, and lets the agent book cleanings at night while urgent cases transfer to the on call group.
A rental company fires a VoiceAgent call from a HubSpot workflow the moment a web lead arrives, qualifies the renter and exports the extracted budget and dates into the HubSpot call note.
An ecommerce brand adds a tool that calls its order API with the caller's order number, so the agent reads back tracking status and only transfers to support when the order is missing.

Tools let an agent call any REST endpoint during a call, each defined with a name, a description of when to use it, a holding message, the method and endpoint, headers such as Authorization, and path or body parameters filled from the conversation, so it can fetch order tracking, reschedule a booking, update a CRM contact or trigger a refund. The appointment booking skill checks a connected Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook calendar and creates the event while the caller waits, scenarios can fire a tool or an SMS, and extracted results post to the CRM call note. Within one agent, a goal prompt combines with skills (transfer to human, take a message, extract information, answer questions, appointment booking and custom skills) and scenarios that pair a situation with a reply and an optional hang up, SMS or tool call. Inbound agents sit as a step in Call Flow Designer, and a transfer can end the agent's part and continue down the flow's answered branch for condition based routing. There is no branching conversation graph inside the agent or handoff from one agent to another. Sourcehelp.cloudtalk.io/en/articles/14072758-voiceagent-skillsread 2026-10-18 |

Knowledge bases are built from uploaded files such as product manuals, from URLs, or from content typed in manually, and are processed to be searchable as the agent answers. They live in their own section of the dashboard, can be created during agent setup or separately, and are linked to one or more agents by ID, so the same price list or policy document can serve a receptionist and a support agent. Templates leave the knowledge base empty for each business to fill. Sourcehelp.cloudtalk.io/en/articles/11204159-knowledge-base-for-voiceagentsread 2026-10-18 |

The transfer to human skill sends callers to a named agent, a ring group or onward through the call flow when a condition is met, delivering a context card to the receiving rep's desktop, and if nobody answers the caller stays with the agent, which knows the transfer failed. Guardrails fix the exact answer for sensitive situations, agents can announce that they are AI, and outbound use comes with TCPA guidance. No step holds an agent action for a person to approve before it runs. Sourcehelp.cloudtalk.io/en/articles/14752325-transfer-to-human-voiceagent-skillread 2026-10-18 |

Agent calls appear in call logs and analytics under the agent's name, with recordings and transcripts on the call details page for accounts on the Conversation Intelligence package, and extracted results arrive as a JSON object in the CRM note and a webhook event. The dashboard shows how many calls the agent resolved and handed over, and the AI Specialist plan adds live and post call analytics. Tool requests and their responses are not shown step by step, and no audit log of agent changes is described. During a call the agent works from the conversation, custom variables supplied when an outbound call is triggered or a test call is placed, and caller details matched from connected CRMs. After the call it extracts the information a business asks for into a JSON result that is posted to the CRM. Nothing the agent learned is stored in a memory of its own and read back on the caller's next call. Agents act through API tools, calendar connections and CRM exports, and nothing in the product drives a browser or desktop on the agent's behalf. A URL added to a knowledge base is processed into searchable content before calls rather than browsed during them, and the dashboard and MCP server are interfaces for people and assistants to manage agents, not screens the agent operates. Pricing
AI Receptionist $99 a month (200 minutes); AI Specialist $349 a month (1,000 minutes); Custom from €0.15 a minute
Monthly VoiceAgent plan with a minute bundle, billed per minute from the plan, the account balance or the monthly invoice; phone system per user
Included quota
AI Receptionist includes 200 minutes a month and AI Specialist 1,000 minutes; Custom plans set a minute package above 10,000 minutes.
What is public
VoiceAgent plan prices with included minutes, the custom per minute floor and the phone system starting price.
Billing mechanics
Monthly VoiceAgent plans with minute bundles, billed per minute from the balance or invoice; AI Specialist and Custom through sales.
Cost watchouts
Transcripts and recordings on call details need the Conversation Intelligence package; the phone system is billed per user on top; overage beyond the bundle bills per minute.
Variable cost rationale
Every agent minute counts against the bundle and then bills per minute, so long or high volume calls raise cost, while larger bundles and custom plans lower the rate.
Additional watchouts
The VoiceAgents tab may need enabling by support on some accounts.
Overage / add-ons
VoiceAgent calls are billed per minute, deducted from the CloudTalk balance or invoiced monthly once plan minutes are used; the overage rate is not shown on the pricing page.
Sales call required
Mixed (some tiers require a call)
Free / trial
14 day trial with 50 VoiceAgent minutes, no card required; first 50 minutes free on AI Receptionist
Lowest paid plan
AI Receptionist at $99 a month for 200 VoiceAgent minutes, first 50 minutes free
Commercial notes
Partners earn 15% of voice agent minutes, and AI Specialist pairs the plan with expert implementation.
Key ambiguities
The per minute rate beyond plan bundles is not stated, prices render in euros for some regions, and the agent page offers the AI Receptionist at €0 for a first month of 50 minutes while the pricing page lists $99 a month.
Support SLA / resale
AI Specialist includes expert implementation and ongoing optimization, and a Voice Agent partner program pays 15% of minutes spent.
