MCP / tool calling / API
Any Voiceflow tool, whether a function, API, MCP or integration tool, can now be run on its own from the API, the Voiceflow MCP server or its copilot, returning the result without starting a conversation. Secrets the tool needs are passed by name rather than value.
Teams can test each tool an agent depends on in isolation, from CI or a coding agent, before it fires in a live customer conversation.
Pricing / packaging
Voiceflow made live agent handoff available on every plan. Chat agents can use the Handoff step to route conversations to Ujet, Genesys, Kustomer, Dixa, Sunshine Conversations for Zendesk, or a custom handoff provider.
Teams on lower plans can include human escalation in a chat deployment without changing their Voiceflow plan to unlock that step. Buyers can assess how the handoff fits their existing contact center and support routing.
MCP / tool calling / API
Secrets and third-party integrations can now be managed programmatically via the stable API, CLI, and the Voiceflow MCP server. Secret values are strictly write-only and are automatically refused if they arrive from an MCP client.
Engineering teams can fully automate the provisioning of agent environments and securely manage credentials in CI/CD pipelines without requiring manual intervention in the visual builder.
Agent capability
Voiceflow is retiring the Flash 4.1 model and automatically migrating all existing agents to Voiceflow Core 4.1. The deprecated model has been removed from the selector and is no longer available for new agents.
Although the migration requires no manual intervention, buyers will see a significant impact on usage costs. The Core 4.1 model consumes roughly three times the input tokens and 2.35 times the output tokens compared to the outgoing Flash 4.1 model.
Integrations
Voiceflow has added native support for Soniox's V5 real-time speech-to-text model. Builders can now select this model to handle transcription for their voice-based AI agents.
Support for Soniox V5 gives teams more flexibility in choosing the underlying speech recognition engine for their voice agents. This allows buyers to optimize for transcription accuracy, latency, and language support based on their specific use cases.

Voiceflow added transcript filtering by workflow, playbook, and tool usage.
Improves post-hoc analysis and operational debugging by linking conversations to the workflow and tool paths actually used.
