MCP / tool calling / API
Agentforce agents can now authenticate to external MCP servers with per user credentials, listed under Agentforce Interoperability in the Winter '27 release notes and rolling out to upgraded orgs from the week of October 5. Calls to an external MCP server can carry the individual user's identity instead of one shared integration login.
Security teams can let agents use outside MCP tools without granting a broad service account, and actions on the external system stay attributable to a named user.
Agent capability
Salesforce announced beta availability of Agent Optimizer, which connects agent configuration, conversational testing, and production session analysis. It can identify failure patterns, propose improvements, build regression tests, and stage changes with review points chosen by the user. The help guide documents enablement for eligible Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Edition customers with qualifying Einstein subscriptions.
Agentforce teams can evaluate a single improvement workflow across development and production instead of manually moving findings between separate tools. Buyers should enable session tracing, confirm subscription eligibility, and retain review gates while validating the beta against their own regression suite.
Agent capability
Salesforce introduced seven job ready Agentforce agents for service, IT and HR, commerce, supply chain, inbound and outbound sales, and customer experience. Six are generally available now; Hunter, the outbound sales agent, is in pilot until a November 2026 release and is the first to run on a new long horizon runtime with memory, durable execution and dynamic steering.
Prebuilt agents shift the question from how to build an agent to which job to hand over first. The long horizon runtime is the part to watch, because agents that pursue a goal for weeks need guardrails on when they act without approval.
Agent capability
Salesforce released updates for Agentforce Voice, adding custom SIP header support and flexible call recording controls via the Voice Toolkit API. The update allows inbound calls to capture custom SIP X-headers to deliver contextual information, and enables developers to pause and resume call recordings without requiring the Control Call Recording user permission.
Enterprise buyers using Agentforce for voice interactions can now pass richer customer context, such as intent or language preference, improving routing and resolution. The new API controls for call recording also offer better compliance and flexibility without requiring broad user permissions.
Security / enterprise
Salesforce announced that its Agentforce 360 platform has achieved Department of Defense Impact Level 5 (IL5) authorization. The platform is now embedded into Missionforce National Security to securely process highly sensitive workloads, including Controlled Unclassified Information and unclassified National Security Systems data.
Public sector and defense buyers can now deploy Salesforce AI agents for sensitive intelligence, logistics, and personnel management missions. This certification ensures the platform meets stringent federal security standards for cloud-based defense workloads.

Common questions
How do I keep up with changes to AI agent platforms?
Read one maintained change log instead of tracking each vendor's release notes separately. The Agentic Index change log records 1648 verified updates across agentic AI platforms, updated weekly, covering new agent capabilities, MCP and tool calling changes, memory, human approval controls, observability, deployment options, pricing and funding. Every entry names the vendor, the date, the change type and an impact level, and links to that vendor's profile.

Weekly. The most recent update was Oct 21, 2026, covering Equal AI, Kognitos, Findem.
How do I track changes for one specific AI agent vendor?
Filter the change log by vendor, or open that vendor's profile page, where the same verified entries appear alongside its capability coverage across the 14 point Agentic Index taxonomy.
Where can I find a single feed of agentic AI platform updates?
This page is that feed. Agentic Index reviews vendor blogs, changelogs, documentation and press materials every week and files what materially changed, so keeping up with changes to AI agent platforms is one page rather than several hundred. Entries are filterable by vendor, change type, impact level and verification status, and each one carries the evidence basis it was graded from.
