Memory / state
Retell launched contact memory, a per agent setting that has a model rewrite a running brief for each contact after every completed call or SMS chat, which the agent can load at the start of a later conversation with the same number. Flow builders can mark nodes as skippable when memory already covers them, and teams can backfill memory from earlier calls and chats.
Repeat callers no longer have to explain open requests again, and teams get cross call context without building a CRM sync. Saving and backfill cost $0.005 per run.
Pricing / packaging
Legacy monthly billing at Retell has ended, and every remaining self serve workspace moved to prepaid credits, starting any workspace that had not switched on its own at a $0 balance. Calls and chats now draw down credits and stop at zero unless auto recharge is on, while phone numbers and some add ons still bill monthly and enterprise accounts stay on invoices.
Teams without a saved card and an auto recharge threshold risk live voice agents going silent when credits run out. The switch cannot be reversed, and credits do not expire but cannot be refunded.
