NxCode is an AI app builder whose Studio pairs two agents: Conductor, an AI product manager that turns a plain English description into tasks with acceptance criteria, and Virtuoso, an AI engineer that writes, installs, builds and tests the code in an isolated Docker container, fixing failures before deploying to Cloudflare's edge. Plans start at $5 a month with credits, and a marketplace lets creators sell their apps for a 70% revenue share.

NxCode, founded in 2024 by Vivian Chi and Alex Liu and operating under California law, sells NxCode Studio to non technical founders, creators and teams who want a full stack application without writing code. Its pitch is execution: instead of only generating code in a browser sandbox, it runs real installs, builds and tests in Docker containers and checks every task against explicit acceptance criteria.

In Studio, Conductor asks clarifying questions, breaks the project into tasks and writes measurable acceptance criteria for each, then hands the plan to Virtuoso, which writes frontend, backend, database and API code on stacks such as React, Next.js, Vue, Node.js, Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Supabase.

Virtuoso runs npm install, build and test, writes unit, integration and end to end tests, and on failure analyzes logs and retries up to three times, while the builder watches a live code view, console output and progress against each criterion. A finished app deploys with one click to Cloudflare's network with SSL and a custom domain, Pro plans can export the project, and the NxCode marketplace lets creators sell apps for a 70% revenue share. A REST API for projects, generations and the marketplace is in private beta.

Lite costs $5 a month with 200 credits, 300 Conductor messages, one dev container and 3 deployments; Pro costs $20 a month with 1,500 credits, 2,000 messages, 3 containers, 10 deployments, project export and no watermark, and first recharges earn bonus credits. Team plans are $49 per user a month for up to 10 members, Business $99 per user with SSO and audit logs, and Enterprise is custom with an on premise option.

NxCode fits founders and creators who want an agent that plans, tests and deploys a complete app for a few dollars a month and may want to sell it. It fits less well for teams that need security certifications, a choice of model, connections to their own tools and documents, or approval over each step the agents take.

In practice

A founder describes a task management app, answers Conductor's questions about subtasks, attachments and roles, and Virtuoso builds and tests twelve tasks in Docker before the founder deploys the app to Cloudflare with one click.

A creator builds a niche SaaS tool on the Pro plan, publishes it to the NxCode marketplace with a subscription price and keeps 70% of what users pay.

A small team on the Team plan shares a project workspace, asks Conductor for a new billing feature, and watches Virtuoso's console output as tests run and failures are fixed.

Integrations & Tool Calling Partial

Integrations are built into the generated app from the requirements: a builder names services such as Stripe or Twilio in the project description and Virtuoso writes the code for them, on stacks that include PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis and Supabase. Business plans list custom integrations with a team's existing systems. There is no catalog of ready connectors, no MCP support and no way for the agent to call outside tools while it works beyond installing public npm or pip packages, and private npm packages are out of reach.

Workflow Orchestration Full

Two agents divide the work. Conductor, the AI product manager, asks clarifying questions, breaks a project into tasks and writes verifiable acceptance criteria for each, then hands the plan to Virtuoso, the AI engineer, which writes the code, runs npm install, build and test in an isolated Docker container and fixes failures for up to three iterations. Conductor checks every task against its criteria before moving on, and a task is marked complete only when all of them pass, after which the app can be deployed with one click.

Sourcenxcode.io/docs/core-conceptsread 2026-10-18

Knowledge Grounding & RAG Partial

Context comes from the project itself and from what the builder writes: Conductor turns the description, examples of expected behavior and any branding requirements into its plan, and context aware generation reads the existing codebase so new code follows its patterns and styles. Builders are advised to add domain context and name the libraries and versions they want when results miss. There is no upload of documents, no knowledge base and no connection to a team's own sources.

Sourcenxcode.io/product/featuresread 2026-10-18

Human Oversight & Guardrails Partial

Conductor asks clarifying questions before it plans, and the builder can pause Virtuoso and give guidance while it works, though that is described as rarely necessary. After three failed fix attempts Virtuoso asks for human help, and deployment waits for the builder to press Deploy. Team plans add basic role permissions and Business plans advanced role based access, but there is no step where a person approves the plan or each change before the code is written.

Sourcenxcode.io/docs/virtuosoread 2026-10-18

Security, Identity & Governance Partial

Data is encrypted in transit over HTTPS and TLS and stored on cloud infrastructure, projects are private to their owner by default, accounts sign in with email, Google or GitHub, and data is deleted with the account. Business plans add advanced role based access, single sign on and audit logs, and Enterprise adds a security review and compliance work. No SOC 2, ISO or other certification backs the platform.

Sourcenxcode.io/product/securityread 2026-10-18

Observability & Auditability Partial

While Virtuoso builds, Studio shows a live code view of files as they change, console output with build logs, test results and errors, and progress against each acceptance criterion, alongside a live preview of the running app. Credit balance and plan resource use appear in the dashboard, and Business plans keep audit logs of all activity for compliance. There is no export of agent traces or connection to outside monitoring tools.

Sourcenxcode.io/docs/virtuosoread 2026-10-18

Memory & State Persistence Partial

Projects live in server side persistent storage with Git rather than in browser cache, and Conductor understands the full context of a project whenever the builder returns to request changes or add features. Each project keeps its tasks and acceptance criteria. Nothing carries a builder's preferences or past decisions from one project to the next, so every new project starts from its own description.

Sourcenxcode.io/docs/core-conceptsread 2026-10-18

Deployment & Data Residency Full

Enterprise plans list an on premise deployment option alongside custom SLAs. On the standard plans, one click deploys the app to Cloudflare's global edge network with a public URL, automatic SSL and an optional custom domain, Lite allows 3 deployments and Pro 10, and Pro adds project export with a README for deploying the code elsewhere, with Vercel, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes among the supported targets.

Prebuilt Agents / Templates / Packs Not documented

Projects start from a written description, and NxCode offers no templates, packaged agents or starter apps to pick from. Step by step tutorials walk through building a SaaS product, an online store, a real time dashboard and React Native mobile apps, which helps a first time builder phrase the request. The NxCode marketplace lists finished apps that creators sell to end users for a 70% revenue share, a storefront for the results that a new project cannot be cloned from.

Sourcenxcode.io/product/case-studiesread 2026-10-18

Triggers & Channel Coverage Partial

Projects start from a description typed into NxCode Studio in the browser, and changes are requested at any time by chatting with Conductor, which keeps the context of the whole project. An API for starting generations and managing projects exists only in private beta. Nothing starts the agents on a schedule, from a chat channel or from an outside event, so each piece of work begins with a person's request in Studio.

Sourcenxcode.io/docs/getting-startedread 2026-10-18

Model Flexibility & Routing Not documented

Conductor and Virtuoso run on NxCode's own choice of models, with no model picker, no named provider and no way to bring an API key. NxCode retains ownership of the AI models and technology used to generate content, and credits are spent at rates that vary with task complexity rather than with any model choice. All work runs through the two built in agents.

APIs / SDKs / MCP Extensibility Partial

A NxCode Studio REST API at api.nxcode.io/v1, authenticated with Bearer API keys from the account dashboard, covers creating and retrieving projects, starting generations and monitoring builds, and publishing marketplace listings, with rate limits of 60 requests a minute on Lite and 300 on Pro. The API is in private beta with access by request and full reference documentation still to come, and there is no SDK, CLI or MCP server.

Sourcenxcode.io/resources/api-referenceread 2026-10-18

Testing, Debugging & Optimization Full

Testing is built into every task: Virtuoso writes unit, integration and end to end tests, runs them with npm test in the Docker container with coverage reports, and on any build, test or runtime failure analyzes logs and stack traces, applies a fix and reruns, up to three times per task. Conductor then verifies each acceptance criterion, such as a login form redirecting to the dashboard, before the task counts as done.

Sourcenxcode.io/docs/core-conceptsread 2026-10-18

Browser / Computer-use Not documented

Neither agent operates a browser, fills in forms on outside sites or controls a desktop. Virtuoso works inside its Docker container, installing packages from public registries, compiling and running tests, and the live preview in Studio is for the builder to watch the app as features land. Browser testing of the app happens only through the end to end test suites Virtuoso writes and runs.
