Klarity

Klarity, based in San Francisco, builds AI that automates document heavy accounting and compliance work and, increasingly, maps and rebuilds the processes around it. Founded in 2017 by Andrew Antos, a Harvard trained lawyer who is its chief executive, and Nischal Nadhamuni, an MIT computer scientist who is its chief technology officer, it raised a Series B led by Tola Capital. It made its name automating the painful, error prone parts of revenue accounting, reviewing nearly one hundred fifty thousand contracts for high growth companies, and counts finance teams like DoorDash among the customers reshaping how they close the books.

The original product automates customer contract review for revenue recognition under ASC 606 and IFRS 15. Klarity automatically pulls the right documents from Salesforce or other repositories, reads and understands each contract, extracts more than three hundred clauses and data points, identifies non standard terms with potential accounting impact, and populates a bespoke review checklist inside the application, with first and second level reviewer workflows, notifications, and audit logs built in. From there it has expanded across order to cash, including order management, deal desk, cash application, and accounts receivable, into accounts payable with invoice extraction and purchase order matching, and into SOX testing, reporting accuracy above human review and material reductions in close time. Its newer AI Transformation Platform builds context graphs of how a company actually operates, using an AI Interviewer that turns recorded walkthroughs into standard operating procedures in minutes and an AI Advisor that surfaces bottlenecks and automation opportunities ranked by return, then helps build the agents to act on them.

Klarity is deep rather than broad, purpose built for revenue accounting, finance operations, and internal audit with audit ready trails and SOX control validation, and it is not a general legal workflow tool or an open agent building platform. It integrates into the enterprise finance stack, runs its own models rather than offering a choice of provider, and works through document workflows rather than driving a browser.
