Automat builds AI agents that operate computers the way people do, positioned as a managed, self healing replacement for legacy RPA vendors like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Blue Prism. Using a proprietary transformer based engine with computer vision and vision language models, its agents see screens visually, make decisions from what they observe, and interact with any application, including SAP, Encompass, MeridianLink, Citrix, and legacy portals without APIs. Because agents find elements by appearance and context rather than brittle selectors, they adapt when a UI changes, removing the maintenance burden that dominates traditional RPA.

Automat is delivered as a managed service: forward deployed engineers build and maintain automations, and customers show workflows via screen recordings or walkthroughs rather than staffing an RPA center of excellence. Each automation ships with a production API for fine grained control and observability, and the platform handles high stakes, high volume runs (customers cite thousands of executions per day) including CAPTCHA solving, 2FA, and parallelized browsers. Automat Workforce extends the vision to AI employees that join teams on Slack and email to handle operations end to end.

Founded by ex Google and Google X engineers Lucas Ochoa and Gautam Nishad, Automat is based in San Francisco and raised a fifteen point five million dollar Series A led by Felicis with Initialized, Khosla Ventures, and Y Combinator. Deployments adhere to GDPR and HIPAA, with customers concentrated in banking, lending, insurance, and mortgage.
