Asteroid builds supervised AI browser and computer use agents for regulated back office work, with a three mode execution ladder: a frontier model first drives the browser the way a person would (read the screen, reason, act, any portal, zero setup); from those runs the agent writes its own deterministic script that replays instantly without the model at a fraction of the cost, with AI handling only judgment calls and keeping the script tuned as the portal evolves; and Astro, the agent builder, can watch how a portal talks to its own servers, find the private API underneath, and call it directly. Agents run as graphs of focused nodes for reliability, observability, and safe tool access, across browser, Linux, and Windows environments. Gen 2 agents get their own computer, write code, self heal, and learn over time (one workflow went from six minutes to 67 seconds). Live Supervision lets operators monitor, intervene, and guide agents in real time, with built in safeguards and failure detection; agents operate under customer credentials with full visibility and are described as HIPAA ready. Production use cases include insurance quoting across carrier portals, patient data entry and prior authorization in healthcare, vendor verification on government sites, and mortgage data entry across lender portals.
