Ironclad Assistant became Ironclad Agent on October 8, one conversational entry point that routes requests to specialized agents, such as sending a contract review request to the Contract Review Agent. Analytics Agent and Contract Family Agent, which builds parent and child contract hierarchies of up to 150 contracts per run, became generally available the same day. A new Workflow Designer Agent, off by default, helps admins create, edit, audit and troubleshoot workflow configurations.
Legal and procurement users get one place to ask for contract work instead of switching between separate AI tools, and workflow admins can change approval routing by describing it rather than building each step by hand.
Security / enterprise
Ironclad released its August 2026 platform update, highlighted by a new Government Environment (NA2) for customers requiring FedRAMP compliance. Agent capability
Ironclad introduced new AI agents and capabilities specifically designed for procurement teams. The release includes AI Obligation Extraction with portfolio-wide monitoring to help organizations track compliance across their contracts.
Procurement and legal teams can leverage these specialized agents to automate the extraction and monitoring of contractual obligations. This reduces manual review time and helps prevent costly compliance oversights across large volumes of vendor agreements.
MCP / tool calling / API
Ironclad has released integrations with Anthropic, OpenAI, and Slack using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The update routes user questions through an MCP server to the Ironclad Assistant, which translates queries into searches across the contract repository. This allows the AI tools to surface real-time contract data, workflow statuses, and key dates directly in the chat interface.
