Human approval / guardrails
Merge proposals are now in alpha in ElevenAgents. Teams can open a proposal for an agent branch, review the configuration changes and test results, leave comments or approval decisions, and merge approved changes into a target branch, with matching clients in the JavaScript and Python SDKs v2.71.0.
Teams get a pull request style review step before prompt, tool or voice changes reach live callers.
Agent capability
ElevenLabs released Eleven v4 and Eleven v4 Turbo, a new text to speech family it trained itself, with more expressive speech and better voice cloning across more than 90 languages. The Turbo model is the real time version for agents, with a stated median latency of about 100 ms, and both are available in ElevenAgents now.
Voice quality and response time decide how a voice agent sounds to callers. Teams running multilingual agents can test whether one cloned voice now holds across languages.
MCP / tool calling / API
ElevenAgents added enable_parallel_tool_calls, enabled by default, so supported models can run multiple tools in one turn. The release also added Slack alerts and a paginated phone number search endpoint. Conversation filters no longer accept the missing operator and instead use an empty value; the knowledge base crawl max_depth parameter is deprecated and ignored.
Review tools whose side effects depend on execution order before allowing concurrent calls. Existing integrations must update missing value filters and should no longer rely on crawl depth as a boundary.
MCP / tool calling / API
ElevenLabs released an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for its platform. This update provides a standardized framework for conversational agents to interface with external data sources and enterprise tools.
Adopting the MCP standard allows teams to rapidly connect their voice agents to existing enterprise systems without building custom integrations from scratch. This significantly reduces the engineering effort required to deploy agents capable of taking real-world actions.
Agent capability
ElevenLabs introduced several new capabilities to ElevenAgents, including a knowledge base system tool, WebSocket support for custom LLMs, and Voice Activity Detection (VAD) configuration. The update also adds DTMF input redaction, translated workflow messages, version filters, and per-test tool mocks.
These additions give developers significantly more control over agent behavior and security. Custom LLM WebSockets allow teams to bring their own models, while DTMF redaction and VAD tuning improve enterprise readiness for telephony and sensitive data handling.
Workflow orchestration
ElevenLabs JS and Python SDK v2.53.0 added conversation evaluation rerun support, workflow entry_behavior and end-procedure tools, telephony filters, and expanded agent test batch limits.
Material for SDK-driven testing, evaluation, and workflow controls in voice agents.
MCP / tool calling / API
ElevenLabs changed the default conversational ASR provider from elevenlabs to scribe_realtime and added conversation_product to conversation details responses.
