Version 2.12.0 of the Bright Data MCP server adds six Web Scraper API tools that let an agent search a self updating catalog of more than 1,200 prebuilt scrapers, run one, and poll for results when a run takes longer than 45 seconds. The same release adds a content gate that asks the user, through MCP elicitation, before returning scraped content that looks like instructions to change the MCP configuration.
Agents can pull structured data from far more sites through one connection, and the content gate puts a person between untrusted pages and the agent's tool setup. Version 3.0.0 on October 11 removed 46 per site tools in favor of the scraper tools, though existing configurations keep working.
Integrations
Bright Data released an integration with Paperclip, an open-source AI orchestration platform for managing teams of agents. The integration allows Paperclip agents to access the web using Bright Data's infrastructure via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent Skills.
Organizations using Paperclip to coordinate multi-agent workflows can now natively equip their agents with robust web scraping and browsing capabilities. This reduces the likelihood of agents being blocked during web research and data collection tasks.
Integrations
Bright Data introduced an integration with Grok Build, allowing the terminal-based AI coding agent to access the live web. The integration utilizes the Bright Data Web MCP to enable web search, scraping, discovery, and browser automation directly within Grok Build.
Developers can now equip their AI agents with real-time web data to bypass static LLM knowledge cutoffs and anti-bot mechanisms. This allows agents to research current documentation, troubleshoot vulnerabilities, and automate workflows with up-to-date information.
Integrations
Bright Data announced an integration with TrueForge, enabling users to run production AI agents with reliable web access. The integration leverages the Bright Data MCP to support parallel subagents and reduce token costs during web data extraction.
Teams building on TrueForge can now connect to scalable web scraping and search infrastructure. This simplifies the deployment of autonomous agents that require live web data while optimizing operational costs.
