Agentic Index
Veecle vs Wokwi (2026)
Wokwi is the embedded simulator many firmware developers already know, and its CLI now carries an experimental MCP server; Veecle's Chiplab was built as an MCP server from the start. That verdict is the Agentic Index coverage score, graded from each vendor's own published materials.
Wokwi covers ESP32, Arduino, STM32 and Raspberry Pi Pico boards with displays, sensors and simulated WiFi, lets an agent set sensor values, read pins and take screenshots, and fails CI runs on missing serial output, on yearly plans from €5.6 a month. Chiplab targets STM32 and Nordic nRF52 at chip level, runs over a hosted endpoint with browser sign in, and returns console output and fault diagnostics within a free daily credit pool. Wokwi fits ESP32 and maker boards with peripherals to exercise, and Chiplab fits nRF and STM32 firmware where the agent mainly needs the binary to run.
This comparison is published by Agentic Index, an independent agentic AI vendor research platform. Veecle and Wokwi are each graded against the same 14 capability Agentic Index taxonomy, from the vendor's own public materials under the Agentic Index verification standard, alongside 955 researched vendors. No vendor pays for placement and no vendor has reviewed this page. How this evidence is graded
Choose Veecle if
- Your firmware runs on Nordic nRF52 parts, which Chiplab simulates and Wokwi does not list.
- You want a hosted MCP endpoint with browser sign in rather than a local CLI process holding a token.
- Fault diagnostics from a chip accurate target matter more than simulated displays and sensors.
- Every board should come with examples in Embassy Rust, Zephyr, FreeRTOS and ThreadX, each carrying an AGENTS.md that tells the agent how to run it.
Choose Wokwi if
- Your boards are ESP32, Arduino or Raspberry Pi Pico, and the firmware talks to displays, sensors and WiFi.
- The agent should press virtual buttons, change sensor values, read pins and capture screenshots.
- CI should fail a build on missing serial output, on a published plan with a set allowance of minutes.
- Developers also want the simulator inside VS Code, with a GDB server and, on Pro, an offline mode.
